About the event
We need many helping hands to kick off Phase 1 installation of our educational garden at the Extension Office. Â Teams will work to edge bed, cover entire turf surface with cardboard and finally spread 3 - 4" of compost over entire bed. Â Likely we can finish on day 1 but 2 days are scheduled just in case we run out of time or have a rain delay. Â Pizza lunch with be provided. Â Please bring large spade or moon shaped tool to assist with edging, gloves and knee pads. Â Call Janet or Linda with any questions. Â Once bed is composted it will sit fallow for 2.5-3 months before tilling compost into top 6 - 8" and then planting, targeting late April/early May. Â Overall design, budget & milestones will be posted at the Extension Office. Â Our pollinator bed will be 100% natives/nativars and approximately 1100 square feet.
