Field Trip to Lockerly Arboretum
The Hospitality Committee has planned our next (MG only) field trip to Lockerly Arboretum in Milledgeville on May 17 th. The visit will include a docent led tour of the historic antebellum home Rose Hill located on the property and a tour of the gardens.

About the event
The visit will include a docent led tour of the historic antebellum home Rose Hill located on the property, and a tour of the gardens which we will see many oaks, magnolias , a California redwood as well as many perennials and annuals. Our tour will also include the native gardens.
Total tour time for the historical home and gardens would be 1Â - 1.5 hours.
Cost is $10 per person
Picnic tables are available for lunch. We will be supplying sub sandwiches, chips, and water for lunch.
Locally they have a really great nursery called T-Bones. Right on the way home. We could stop there on the way back for 30-45 minutes for some plant buying therapy if interested.
Lockerly is a 1 hour & 20 minute drive from the Ag Center.
Proposed Schedule of events:
- Depart Ag Center - 8:20 am
- Arrive at Lockerly - 9:45 am
- Tour - 10 am - 11:30 AM
- Free Exploration 11:30 - Noon
- Picnic lunch Noon - 12:30 pm (publix subs)
- Depart Lockery - 12:45 PM
- Arrive at T-Bones (optional) Â 1:00 pm
- Depart T-Bones - 1:45 pm
- Arrive back at Ag Center 3:15 pm ish
