Join us as we develop overall plant list and design for the ELG. Shade Garden. Installation will take place in 2 additional phases. This October we plan to install the large shrub layer, edging stones & dry river bed. In the spring we will complete the garden-see more below..

Please join us as we identify the plant list and overall design for our very own ELG - Shade Garden.
In Phase I, executed this past spring, trees were installed including 2 sweetbay magnolias, 3 merlot redbuds and 1 nuttall oak. And they are gorgeous! Additonally we created the bed outline and covered entire surface with cardboard/compost. Total cost of Phase I was approximately $1800.
Now we are kicking off Phase II which includes identifying the entire design and tilling under compost layer & installation of the large shrub layer, edging stones, dry river bed & shade cover (until our trees get big enough to do that job!). We have an approved budget of $1725 for Phase II and we are targeting presentation of the final deisgn to board by end of September with installation by end of October.
