A Child's Voice Garden Installation - Day 2

A Child's Voice is a child advocacy center serving Walton & Newton Counties.  They provide services to children & teens who may have experienced child sexual abuse, sex trafficing, severe physical abuse, or witness to a violent crime or homicide.  They specifically provide forensic interviews/medical exams, family support & advocacy, prevention education & community outreach.  For more information on A Child's Voice, pamphlets are available in the MG office.  A Child's Voice asked us to design and install a landscape in front of their building that is welcoming and peaceful.  We presented a design that has been accepted (a copy of the design is also available at the MG office) and next step is installation.  The work session will include 1) removing a couple of existing small shrubs, 2) amending the soil (we will source amendment in bulk, top beds with 3 -4 inches and till in to a depth of 8 inches, 3) take a soil sample 4) install new plant material, and 5 ) Mulch.  The scope of the project is not large and includes two beds on either side of the front door approxpimately 130 sq feet each.  Likely we will finish in day 1 but scheduling a day 2 in case of rain or if we have a bit of overflow work requiring day 2.  Please bring your shovel, hand tools, knee pads and garden gloves.  If would be great if we could get upwards of 8 or so folks to come out and support.  Call Peggy or Janet with any questions.
